Juanita Duggan was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer on July 1, 2014. In this capacity, Juanita leads the trade association representing 1,000 of the best-known global consumer apparel and footwear brands. She directs the advocacy, public affairs, and industry relations efforts of AAFA’s 340+ members. Her experience spans prominent government appointments, three trade associations, corporate advocacy, and issue management. Juanita was most recently Policy Director at Brownstein Farber Hyatt Schreck, the 4th largest lobbying firm in Washington, D.C. Before joining Brownstein, Juanita was President and Chief Executive Officer for the American Forest and Paper Association, President and Chief Executive Officer for the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America, Vice President for Federal Relations at Philip Morris Management Company, Inc., and Executive Vice President for Government Affairs and Communications for the National Food Processors Association. Juanita served in the White House under President George H. W. Bush as Special Assistant to the President for Cabinet Affairs and under President Ronald Reagan's Special Assistant to the President and Executive-Secretary, Domestic Policy Council, and as Special Assistant to the President for Public Liaison, Domestic Policy. She graduated from Georgetown University.
